~Policy Updates ~
(By Ashlee Klevens)
Previous to Outlook, two policy committees met to formulate ideas from policies 2009. These recommendations were brought to Outlook 2010 and disputed, then voted on by the House of Delegates. During the House of Delegates closing session on Sunday, delegates levied their final vote on the current CPhA policies, as well as recommended new policies for the current year.
1. CPhA supports legislations and programs that provide adequate, reasonable, and timely payment for state and federally mandated pharmacist/pharmacy services.
2. CPhA supports the active role of pharmacist in the education and training of patients; and/ or their caregivers, who purchase home diagnostic or medical testing kits and devices, and other medical appartatus.
3. CPhA supports pharmacists providing appropriate counseling for all medications and medical devices, whether prescription or non- prescription.
Disclaimer: these policies serve as an idea of what happened at CPhA. Some of these proposals may have been withdrawn or changed around for grammatical errors.
